Bootie with fine woven hair fur by Steiff Schulte

PETER KAISER starts equipping its bootie model BONNIEH with black woven natural hair fur manufactured by Steiff Schulte Webmanufaktur. This model possesses robust treaded soles, side zippers and is available in different grey and metallic shades.

This fur brings back childhood memories: since 1902 it has been incorporated into the original Teddy bears by Steiff Schulte. The base of the woven fur is the soft hair of Alpacas living in the Peruvian Andes. After having been clipped, the hair is spun into yarn, gathered up to rolls and delivered to Germany.  Once the yarn arrives at the weaving mill Steiff Schulte in Duisburg, Germany, it is dyed and woven three-dimensionally.

’In comparison to other materials, this fluffy woven hair fur does not only keep you warm, but is also really light. Since the fur’s production is also ecologically harmless, it seemed reasonable to incorporate it into our autumn/winter products,’ Liliana Cacopardo, head of design at PETER KAISER, explains. ‘The first feedback on this cooperation and our Teddy bear fur models is very positive – maybe also because the Teddy material reminds its wearer of childhood dreams.’

The German Minister for Economic Affairs Brigitte Zypries visits PETER KAISER

The German Minister for Economic Affairs Brigitte Zypries visited PETER KAISER in Pirmasens to find out about design, production and the worldwide commercialization of high-quality women’s shoes. Angelika Glöckner, Member of the German Parliament, and Alexander Fuhr, member of the Regional Parliament of Rhineland-Palatinate, accompanied her. Ms Zypries showed a special interest in the sources of inspiration for the collection, in sustainable leathers and in the online-shop. During her visit to the production, she praised the detailed manufacturing quality and the accurate work of many long-term workers.

Brigitte Zypries emphasized PETER KAISER‘s trend-setting online-configurator. „Digitalization changed the shoe manufacturing.  On PETER KAISER‘s website you are able to individually design your favourite shoe and have it produced in Germany as a unique piece.“ In such individualization lays a great opportunity for the future of shoe manufacturing in Germany. Ms Zypries assumes that in the future people will have their feet digitally measured and keep individual shoe-profiles at the manufacturer, in order to have perfect fitted shoes – without even having to try them on!

Ms Zypries finds that the „digitalization“ will extend to all areas of life. She wonders that everyone has a mobile phone at hand and gets inspired by influencers. She is very impressed that PETER KAISER with its 180 years picks up all those trends: „It’s impressive how PETER KAISER, which was founded in 1838, faces all the new challenges.“

Second Place for “ELLI” at the German Blogger Prize BLOTY

During the Berlin Fashion Week Peter Kaiser was honoured at the second “Blogger Look of the Year (BLOTY) Award”. The silver lace-up model “ELLI” made it on the second place within the highly competitive category “Preppy”. Within this category, participants could submit trendy pieces with so-called “American upper-class college chic”. Prior to the award, over 1.000 German bloggers had voted for the hottest summer textiles and -shoes of 2017. A jury of the two German top-bloggers Lisa Hahnbück and Lou Beyer then chose the top three products in each of the eight categories. The popular competition was organized by the blogger-website “Hashmag” and the night of the award show was anchored by star-blogger Riccardo Simonetti.
The lace-up shoe “ELLI” by Peter Kaiser is a modern “Full-Brogue”-model. It captivates not only due to its silvery mirroring leather, but also due to a classical openwork design, a platform sole with decorative white, grey, and blue layers, and snow-white shoe laces.
“We are very proud that our eye-catching lace-up shoe “ELLI” has been awarded this year, as this model reflects the fresh, new image of our traditional brand,” Dr. Marcus Ewig, CEO at Peter Kaiser says.

Interview with Liliana Cacopardo

Interview with Liliana Cacopardo concerning the spring/summer collection “Sailing Tour”

  1. How did you develop the collection’s theme “Sailing Tour”?

I was inspired by the variety of colours visible in the latest fashion trends and my desire to travel. Besides, the fascinating contrasts arousing the desire to discover the ocean and the life at sea mainly determined the developmental process.

  2. What are the main characteristics of the collection?

Characterising features of the collection are colour contrasts, floral patterns and details visible in our materials. Knots, cut outs and light soles are presented on blocky heels.

  3. How do the different shoe models reflect the collection’s theme “Sailing Tour”?

On the one side, the motto “Sailing Tour” is visible in our materials as several varnishes and smooth leathers were custom-made for this collection. On the other side, the models further reflect the different stops of the “Sailing Tour”, e.g. “Travel”, “On Board”, “In the Sun”, and “Dinner”.

  4. Does the collection include any new models, that have never been manufactured by PETER KAISER?

For the spring/summer season 2017 new, sporty topics like summer boots with perforation and minor changes like bows and mesh with lace optic were implemented.

  5. What characterises the Espandrilles of this collection? How many colours and variants of them do exist?

The Espandrilles stand out due to their removable cushion and due to a comfortable, wide fit. They are available in about ten different colours, including Notte, Powder, and Sunflower.

  6. Do you have a favourite shoe from this collection?

The lace-up shoe “Elli” is my favourite choice from this collection.

OUTFITTING THE DEBUTANTES OF THE SEMPEROPERNBALL

OUTFITTING THE DEBUTANTES OF THE SEMPEROPERABALL

PETER KAISER, the exclusive partner of this year’s SemperOperaball in Dresden, outfitted not only the ball’s debutantes with special dancing shoes, but also many other female ball guests with the “Official Ball-Shoe” and other elegant PETER KAISER-models. Wearing their PETER KAISER pumps, the nervous debutantes glamorously mastered their performance and danced the night away.

While the SemperOperaball took place inside the opera, PETER KAISER also managed to draw the attention of 15.000 guests attending the SemperOpenairball which was organized at the Theater Square in front of the Semperopera: arriving in a fabulous carriage, a charming prince and his squire were desperately looking for the lost Cinderella, the princess who lost one “Official Ball-Shoe” that would only fit her foot. After having found the right princess, the lucky woman received a pair of PETER KAISER’s “Official Ball-Shoes”.

Furthermore, all guests of the SemperOpenairball had the chance to win five lovely PETER KAISER bags.

PETER KAISER enjoyed this outstanding event and is already looking forward to next year’s participation as the ball’s exclusive partner for shoes.

In summer 2016, PETER KAISER provided 25 pairs of shoes for a fashion show of the label MOON Berlin by designer Christian Bruns. These elegant shoes were now forwarded to all fashion design students of the University of Applied Science in Trier, Germany. During the university’s annual fashion show, Liliana Cacopardo, head of design at PETER KAISER Schuhfabrik GmbH (third from right), Dr. Jörg Hoepfner, head of marketing (second from right), and designer Christian Bruns (left), handed over the shoes to Prof. Dirk Wolfes (centered) and his students.

New Brandstore in Frankfurt am Main

PETER KAISER, the oldest shoe factory in Germany, has opened a new brand store in Frankfurt. In the 50-square-meter shop in the fancy Goethestraße, the company will present a wide range of women's and men's footwear and accessories. This store complements the brand store opened last year in Wihelmstrasse, Wiesbaden, the online-shop and the numerous sales areas in renowned stores. At Gothestrasse, Frankfurt two sales persons will greet and professionally advise discerning costumers.

"The direct proximity to other premium and luxury brands such as MCM, Jil Sander, Tod's, Hackett and Michael Kors is an excellent setting to present our premium quality, elegant collections," explains PETER KAISER’s CEO, Dr. Marcus Ewig. He adds, "Frankfurt is not only an international banking center, but also very popular among tourists from around the world - for us as an international brand, it is an ideal location to be noticed in our home market."

ELEGANT ROCK

Just when we think about an outfit, which we can do in the office but also contribute directly to the after-work party a plain black combination is always appropriate. How to style such a really cool outfit with a pinch of rock and roll, is shown by Kim on her fashion blog (http://kiamisu.de/).We perceive the combination of simple trousers and this cool vest in combination with our it- pumps "Adelheid" entirely appropriate. Kim writes about her styling:

"(...) what is a superb styling without the matching shoes True: nothing (...) I came across this fabulous shoes of Peter Kaiser. Their unique design, black smooth leather in combination with wood- amazing. Since the previous look was indeed very simple and only in one color, I think that this small detail helps the look  to twist. In addition, I must mention that the shoes are just incredibly comfortable. The heel is relatively wide and offers a great comfort. Perfect for an evening when you want to be necessarily styled, but strokes while maintaining portability. "

TOKYO BLOGGER EDITION - SARA BOW

TOKYO WAS CALLING

For the second time we've supported Sara Bow during her Blogger trip to Tokyo. Two months she was travelling through the land of the rising sun. We are excited what she'll tell us and are eagerly waiting for it to read it on her blog (http://sarabow.de/). As a little appetizer she shows one of her favorite outfit and writes about it:

"If I so completely oversee the outfit now, I realize that it contains only favorite pieces: D (...) Eyecatching, next to the Cinderella bag, are the high heels of my favorite brand Peter Kaiser. There are simply no cozier pumps than these of Peter Kaiser! I'm really a wimp when it comes to high shoes and can't rarely spend a whole day with them. But honestly, last year during the Tokyo Fashion Week I really did everything in my Peter Kaiser heels. I managed each appointment and did not have any blister on my foot, even though I was wearing the shoes for the first time! "

If you want to get the same experience- just visit our online shop www.peter-kaiser.com!

RIBBONS

It is a true all-rounder: the ribbon. Within seconds it does a simple shoe to a real eye-catcher. In our current spring / summer collection, we used diverse ribbons as decorative elements.

Our current favorite is the model Samos. On a 7.5 cm heel the beautiful Peeptoe comes along in three bold and amazing colors: a bright yellow, a fiery red and a captivating blue. The toecap is decorated with a bulky, perfectly set leather ribbon. Thanks to this, our forefoot is wonderfully dainty. The perfect shoe to give our outfits a touch of summer right now.

COOL, COOLER - D'ORSAY

D'Orsay - probably the trendiest shoe shape of this spring.

This type of shoe, characterized by its lateral recesses between toe and heel, is a true fashion miracle: whether elegant and feminine or extravagant and cool - a D'Orsay shoe is always the right pic! Not only as flats - the D'Orsay shoes are a must-have this season, even as Pumps they are our absolute dream shoes and a must in every wardrobe. For those who ask how to style them: pants or skirts have to end above the ankle to give the shoe the attention it deserves.

EYE CATCHER

Since several seasons, we're working with Lisa and are still amazed by her personality, style and read her blog (http://www.thelfashion.com/) frequently: She writes about our last coopration:"the german shoe label Peter Kaiser is now exception and you now I’m in love with their more than comfortable shoes for quite a while now. I also was really happy to spot a lot of trend pieces in Peter Kaiser spring/summer collection and I immediately felt in love with the classic pumps in a bright blue color. Colorful and detailed shoes are a big must have of the season, so go all out with your shoe choices this time. Since I have really slim feet I’m always struggling with finding the right pair of pumps (trust me people, it’s impossible to walk im them otherwise), but the Peter Kaiser pumps are a perfect match for me and I always appreciate a pointy cut. The bright blue color is the perfect highlight for neutral or in my case all black look (or as my mother learned, what bloggers wear when they don’t want to put afford into their looks). If you’re wondering, my best friend Rauhut Photography took these photos and since we like to try out different things, you have the choice between studio and streetstyle photos.

You want to copy that look? No problem, you can shop this cool high heel pump Dalara online http://www.peter-kaiser.de/Preview/Dalara-pk.html?listtype=search&searchparam=Dalara

BLACK IS BEAUTIFUL

Alice M. Huynh (http://iheartalice.com/) and PETER KAISER are connected by a long and great cooperation. We love Alice for her great looks, her taste and the ability to inspire us again and again and last but not least she shows us how cool you can style our shoes. Currently she's traveling in Asia. One of her absolute favourite outfits during that trip is a knee-length dress to which she combines our boots.

She describes her look: "To loosen the look a bit, I decided on this dress with stud details, through the small studs you can see a little bit of my skin and it makes the outfit also look not so prudish. Moreover my shoe cabinet was extended with a timeless model: the knee high boots from Peter Kaiser. To provide a little contrast in my all-black-everything look, I play again with materiality: metal studs, jersey dress, leather clutch with fringe and the nice suede  boots. For me all Peter Kaiser shoes have an incredibly high quality, processing (Made in Germany!), and the materials are a dream. In this outfit I wear the model Aila of Peter Kaiser: the comfy heel of only 35 mm and the buttery soft suede convinced me right away. "

For those of you, who want to update their shoe cabinet, too - you can shop this style online: http://www.peter-kaiser.de/schwarz/Aila-pk.html?listtype=search&searchparam=Aila (copyright of all pictures is with Alice and her blog)

AND THE OSCAR GOES TO.....PETER KAISER

Past Sunday  the film industry was again head over heels; Time for the 88th Academy Awards. In between Susanne Pointner with daughter Julia. The latter plays in the Oscar- nominated production of Patrick Vollrath "Everything will be fine," the lead role. We have asked Mrs. Pointner to tell us how she perceived the ceremony and how it feels to wear PETER KAISER shoes on such a day.

"The red carpet is narrower than imagined - And quite uneven as no surprise that it has already brought great actresses such as Jennifer Lawrence to fall thanks to the wonderful shoes, sponsored by Peter Kaiser, we mastered this stretch well, Finally in the beautiful rooms of the Dolby Theatres we took our seats. My ten year old daughter Julia, the lead actress of the Oscar-nominated short film, "Everything will be fine" by Patrick Vollrath enjoyed the show, and although the film did not win, it was a wonderful experience for us. The Conference by Chris rock attacked skilfully the issue of racism and managed to keep the balance between amusement and serious background. Particularly touching was the vocal performance of Lady Gaga -. and of course the moment when Leonardo Dicaprio finally held his first Oscar in his hands.

During the break, I chatted with a known lady from the German film industry. She complained that you her feet were hurting already at the beginning of the show. I knew the topic all too well - the best theater evenings were already soured,  until I discovered the beautiful and pleasant shoes by Peter Kaiser. Since then, on special occasions I only wear those shoes - and as far as possible in everyday life. The anticipation of Julias more premieres thus untroubled!

Best regards and thank you (it was in fact just as I wrote it), Susanne Pointner"

THE ULITIMATE BRIDAL SHOE TEST

The question of the right bridal shoes is essential for the most beautiful day in your life. The right shoe must not only be comfortable, it also has to match the dress and type. For those of you who need a little help in the choice: make our bridal shoe test and find out which shoe fits you.

1. What is your dream wedding dress?

A) Classic with floor length and of course in white or champagne.

B) Petticoat, short or in colour- main thing something else.

c) Girlish Empire style, soft flowing fabrics.

 2. Your wedding reception is ...

A) Ceremony, food, cut cake and dancing - the complete program.

B) A wild party with all the people that you know.

c) A very cozy party with all our friends and family.

3. Any extra accessories?

A) Of course: veil, earrings, necklace and my wedding ring.

B) Feathers on the head like Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City or huge flowers can  imagine everything

C) I am not for accessoires- my wedding ring will be the only accessory.

4. If you have the choice you prefer shoes that....

A) Have a heel but they need to be comfortable.

B) The higher, the better.

C) Are comfortable to get quickly from A to B.

 5. What is your daily look?

A) Suitable for the situation.

B) I'm falling in love and take every trend.

C) Practical. I almost only combine Basics.

Well, what letter you have most frequently ticked?

A: You're a classic: In clothing and footwear you put special emphasis on quality and elegance. Your wedding dress reflects it: traditionally in white or champagne and, of course, floor length. The perfect shoes for you are classic pumps or sling backs in the same tone as the dress. Have them to underline the dress, but not too noticeable. On a medium high heel you feel particularly comfortable.

B: May it be a little bit more? You're a fashionista through and through. You have a penchant for high heels and flashy accessories. Of course, your wedding shoes are anything but simple. Colour, shimmering surfaces or extravagant details, everything is possible. The more unusual is the shoe, the more, however, you want to bring you back the dress. Finally, you have style.

C: Easy Going: In everyday life you care about fit, quality and good workmanship. Clearly, you cannot come with something else when choosing your bridal shoes. Your perfect bridal shoe is a flat sling backs or a ballerina and goes fine with your girlish dress. The main thing is, that’s not too high.

INTERVIEW WITH LILIANA CACOPARDO

Liliana Cacopardo, creative director and head of design for PETER KAISER

What inspired you to the motto "dolce vita"? Good mood, family, bright colors and a lot of joy! That's how you imagine the Italian way of life. And so it is ... Italy inspires with its variety of colors and shapes. This is a perfect theme for a summer collection.

Since you are absolutely right and what do you associate personally with the subject? A day at the beach, a good glass of wine, beautiful landscapes and impressive architecture, nice people around - so makes life's easy and fun.

In designing the collection you had surely an idea of how you can incorporate your inspiration in the designs. What distinguishes the summer collection from now? Primarily the colors. We have many new materials used, which are enhanced with colored details, like colorful stripes, interspersed with metallic threads, flowers, 3- D effects, tip and perforations, new unusual optics like snake prints with floral patterns or materials change color depending on the light. New interesting cuts and many different types of shoes are characterized as always from our collection.

Each collection has highlights, or topics that are especially important. The highlights are of course the highlighted block heels that are to adorn the collection. Since we have different details worked out, including a wooden heel (http://www.peter-kaiser.de/Damen/Adelheid.html?listtype=search&searchparam=adelhei&searchcnid=) with double plateau or geometric leather heels, or even very fine metallic optics .... Something sporty are related with floral patterns wedges, our wedding shoes or the cheerful floral prints.

You're constantly surrounded by shoes and but probably have a favorite shoe, right? Oh, I can not decide. We have something for every occasion. So my favorite shoe, for example, when it's about traveling is the flat lace-up shoe. Its a comfortable one with its soft extra light sole.  If I have to go more elegant, I would definitely put the asymmetric peeptoe (http://www.peter-kaiser.de/Damen/Alda-pk.html) on. It is a special shoe that is comfortable by the refined interface despite the height and caresses your feet. What also should not be missed is the super-soft ballerina (http://www.peter-kaiser.de/Damen/Inga.html? List type = search & searchparam = ballerina & searchcnid =). For the very hot summer days simply put the flat strap sandal on.

Now we women ten to buy shoes, only because the shoe was so cute. But if I make them a point to be fashionable and always well dressed, which shoe should not be missing in my collection?  Fashion is so very versatile at the moment. The waist dresses, asymmetrical skirts, the new culottes, wide soft dresses, flowing fabrics, baggy pants in Marlene style are just as hip as the skirts in A-line. But tight, ankle-length jeans, miniskirts and sportive vests shape the fashion trends. All the shoes will fit to these trends. Depending on you look you can always choose either flat sporty models or prefer the elegant high heel shoes. If I were to make a recommendation, I'm sure that a woman is perfectly dressed with the following 5 shoe types:

the sandal with a flamboyant chunky heel, for special occasions // the classic pumps or peep toe // a trendy wedge sandal for an easy look // flat shoes with the extra light sole for a stylish and comfortable look //  the evergreen - flat ballerina. Here we have many colors available // the flat and easy going sandal, if things should be quite straightforward

NEW COLLECTION

THE WAITING IS OVER - THE NEW ONES ARE HERE

Although we must -calendrical- still deal with the winter (Mr. Winter does de facto not really like to come), but we are dreaming already of warm sunshine, light  summer nights, cool drinks, easy dresses and the scent of sunscreen. For all the fashionistas who already want to back up the hot, trendy shoes for summer time and to show their trend knowledge- we have good news: you will receive the first great models in our online store, starting today!

EXCELLENT ECOLOGICAL SHOES

PETER KAISER receives Design Award of the country for innovative concept

Ludwigshafen / Pirmasens. ”Design promotion is promoting innovation” proclaimed Minister of Economic Affairs Eveline Lemke at yesterday's award ceremony of the Rhineland-Palatinate Design Prize 2015 in the category product design. As part of the twenty-first award PETER KAISER, was honored along with nine other companies and designers from Rhineland-Palatinate, for its concept of an ecological shoe and the matching bag model.

For months Liliana Cacopardo, since July 2014 responsible for the design collection at PETER KAISER, is researching for innovative, sustainable and high-quality manufacturing processes. The goal is clearly defined: "In the footwear industry value is rarely placed on environmentally friendly materials and degradability of recyclables. The implementation of our design clearly shows, however, that these aspects can also be considered in industrial production. "

This concept also convinced the jury of experts, who liked the innovative product features, the good fit and the perfect finish and the excellent product design.

The design concept underlies an ecologically sustainable tanning process, which enables a smooth and skin-compatible upper and lining leather on pure vegetable basis. The other components of the product are made of environmentally friendly materials. Sole and heel plateau are made from one hundred percent wood and the outer sole of the recycled thermoplastic material (Apinat). The adhesives are water-soluble and the seams are, as far as possible, made of cotton. The matching bag is sewn from the same leather and lined with cotton. The metal contained in the bag comes from recycled waste and can be recycled again.

The company is planning to launch the new product line, initially with three fashionable models, on their own sales channels.

DESIGN PRIZE RHINELAND-PALATINATE

The Design Award Rhineland-Palatinate is a special prize of the country for outstanding product design. Announced since 1994 the price wants to strengthen design in companies and target it as an economic and competitive factor. The competence center for design, production and communication of the Chamber of Crafts in Koblenz led, in cooperation with the Design Forum Rhineland-Palatinate – descom, this year's competition procedures, to which a total of 96 products were submitted. All award winners are nominated by the Ministry of Economy, Climate Change, Energy and Regional Planning Rhineland-Palatinate for other national and international competitions.
